Bombox
Protect your business
The Bombox is the brainchild of Moyra Franklin, who was practice manager of a law firm in Manchester, England, at the peak of the IRA mainland bombing campaign. Moyra had two close calls with bombings. A prototype of her Bombox was then put to the test with the massive 1992 Manchester bomb and the 1996 bomb. Nearly 500 businesses did not survive, the 1996 but Moyra’s firm was up and running again within hours.
Whats in the box?
Between what we provide, and what we encourage you to provide, your Bombox contains everything your business needs to continue trading after a terrorist attack, fire, flood or other disaster.
Firstly, it contains a number of practical items such as torches and hard hats that you need to return to the site of a disaster. Secondly, it contains the Bombox book and CD, which outline in detail the type of company information e.g client contact details, you will need to add to your Bombox. Templates for all these documents are on the CD. We also recommend that your company’s back-ups are placed in the box and regularly updated.
The Bombox is bright yellow and clearly labelled, so that it is easily identifiable. It’s also reinforced and watertight to ensure that the Bombox and its contents cannot become damaged. The box, however, is not ‘bombproof’ – it must be kept off-site so that you can access all your company records, even if you cannot access your offices.
More about Moyra
Moyra Franklin enjoys walking her dog, Harry, through the Lancashire countryside. She loves cooking, reading, going to the theatre, politics
and eating out…..
All very genteel, you might think. But behind the cultured, placid, slightly eccentric exterior, burns an obsession that has fired a one-woman crusade. Moyra, former Legal Practice Manager of Alsop Wilkinson/DLA, has personal experience of terrorism attacks. That’s why, for the last 15 years, she has waged war on the terrorists on behalf of small businesses.
“Terrorism isn’t going to go away,” says Moyra. “I think the events of 9/11 and the horror of the London bombings and our reaction to them have taken the lid off Pandora’s Box, and I don’t think we’ll get it back on again. I can’t protect people, but I can protect their businesses.”
